Kayla Gives Good Hair

Hair has been my passion for as long as I can remember, but my journey truly began in a high school classroom back in 2010. I had an incredible cosmetology teacher who saw something in me before I ever saw it in myself. She challenged me in ways that pushed my creativity byhiding cutting guides in mannequin heads, bringing in books on styles I wanted to learn, and even convincing other teachers to let me practice haircuts on them. Without her encouragement, I might never have pursued this path, and for that, I’ll always be grateful.

By the time I graduated cosmetology school in 2014, I had already started shadowing a talented salon owner who introduced me to a whole new way of thinking about hair. She taught me how to cut with intention, using shapes to create balance and movement. She also opened my eyes to the power of personal branding and the world of hair education. I became obsessed, following industry icons like Sam Villa, Robert Cromeans, and Guy Tang, soaking up every bit of knowledge I could. That hunger to learn has never faded, and I bring that same energy into every client experience.

Over the years, I’ve worked in different salons, learning from every stylist, entrepreneur, and creative I’ve had the privilege of working alongside. I’ve explored so many facets of this industry, but at the core of it all, my mission has always been the same: to show people that beauty is everywhere, unique, and deeply personal. Post-COVID, I took a step back to recalibrate, but when I returned, I knew I wanted to work somewhere that fully aligned with my vision.

Now, I’m stepping into a new chapter—one where I’m not just behind the chair but also creating a space that celebrates bold, alternative styles, vivid colors, and the kind of cuts that make people feel like their most authentic selves. My space is more than just a place to get your hair done, it’s a place where creativity thrives, individuality is celebrated, and everyone has a seat at the table.

I wouldn’t be here without the people who have trusted me with their hair and their confidence over the years. This isn’t just a career for me, it’s my passion, my craft, and my way of helping others step into their power.
